Anand Sweets & Savouries, a heritage brand from Bengaluru, is celebrated for its premium Indian sweets, snacks, and thoughtful gifting experiences. Over three decades, it has grown from a single sweet shop into one of South India’s most beloved confectionery brands, blending time-honoured recipes with innovation in form and presentation.
Brief
To create a signature retail experience for the Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) that carries flavours and stories, from across India to the world. The goal: make gifting travel-friendly, culture-rich, and unforgettable.
Challenge
Unlike traditional formats where sweets are sold by weight, airport retail requires a complete rethink. How do you turn sweets into souvenirs? How do you design packaging that feels gift-worthy, travel-ready, and layered in visual storytelling? Further, due to logistical challenges, fresh or syrup-based sweets were ruled out. The format had to favour dry sweets with longer shelf life, and packaging needed to optimise for size, durability, and inventory space.
Packaging Concepts
We developed a range of packaging collections that celebrate India’s rich culinary and cultural diversity, transforming every box into a keepsake of flavour and memory. Travel-sized tins and boxes featured layered artwork and tactile finishes, turning the unboxing into a moment of discovery and delight. Among the standout collections, Flavours of North India draws from Mughal-era design and animal symbolism. A stately deer, rendered in jewel-toned hues inspired by Punjab’s festive palette, anchors the visual, evoking a quiet grandeur that speaks to tradition, elegance, and enduring legacy.
Flavours of Western India
Channeling the grandeur of Rajasthan and Gujarat, this design features regal peacocks and architectural motifs. An opulent colour scheme celebrates the royal heritage and artisanal sweet-making traditions of the region.
Flavours of India
A round tin that brings together sweets from all five regions—North, South, East, West, and Central. Floral and bird motifs from across India intertwine with vintage coin-inspired patterns, creating a collectible that honours diversity and shared celebration.
Night Garden – A Whimsical Nocturnal Escape
A dreamy, starlit visual narrative unfolds in deep hues and gold accents. Layered silhouettes of trees, deer, and night flora make this sleeve enchanting, luxurious, and perfect for evening gifting.
Birds, Fruits & Flowers – A Celebration of Nature’s Abundance
Lively illustrations in a bright, joyful palette capture the playful abundance of Indian festivities. Birds in flight, ripe fruits, and blooming flowers offer a vibrant visual metaphor for joy, togetherness, and indulgence.
