Transporting tea drinkers to the lush origin of the product through a visual journey.

Tea Forest produces artisanal tea grown in Darjeeling for conscious consumers who seek a deeper connection with the product. They also provide holiday experiences in quaint tea estates for travellers to reconnect with nature.

Background

The brand sees its product as inseparable from the biosphere that it resides in. The brief was to bring the user to appreciate this interconnectedness through the branding and packaging of the tea.

Process

For a product that packs an entire world in itself, the packaging had to reflect just that. We brought out the artisanal quality of the tea by adding engaging details and interactions. Our vision was to reimagine the tea heritage of Darjeeling from human-centric to nature-centric.

Keepsake Box

We decided to give the users an experience that lives beyond the consumable inside. We made the box a precious keepsake of its own by adding a visual treat of free flowing, intricately drawn illustrations of the Himalayan forest biodiversity.

Layering

Like the forest, we bring the box to life with many layers - the iconic Indian hornbill on the forefront, surrounded by overlapping plant and bird life over a tea stained background. The unboxing experience is layered with more materials namely peel-away stickers, textured paper and a linen bag. It all comes together in a heightened visual and tactile treat.

The Ecosystem of Tea

The visual world of Tea Forest includes various adaptations of the branding - for instance, the product photography inherits the circular composition of herbs and flora around the tea. The box is photographed in the midst of the tea estate to build spatial associations with the brand. Organic stamps and certifications are included to build credibility in the brand that practices ethical, earth-friendly tea production.

The branding also extends to Tea Forests Samabeong, their getaway experience, letting the user discover more experiences within the premise of the Tea Forest brand.

Making the digital experience approachable with simple and identifiable elements that are aligned with the brand visual system.
